Welcome to My Blog
Hello I’m Tony Aued and I thank you for visiting my blog. As I travel around various shows and book signings, my readers often want me to tell them about myself. I figured that would make an appropriate topic for my first blog post so here is a little bit about myself.
I’d say my greatest accomplishment has been to see the success of many of my former students. I loved teaching, it was always a challenge to get students engaged but once I did I knew that they’d be good readers and writers. I taught both Writing and English Language Arts. In order to be a good writer I believe you have to be a good reader. I’m proud to say that I still have contact with many of my former students and their families.
I’m a fan of James Patterson, David Baldacci and John Grisham. I’ve been told by fans that my books are similar in a sense, I like short chapters and often use mini cliff hangers to keep the reader wanting more. I’ve always written, from the time I was in High School to today. I love plotting a story and character development. My characters are designed so that you feel their emotions, pain and joys. In my Blair Adams series, the lead character is a young woman who’s husband was killed in Iraq. This actually was developed from experience because my daughter’s husband was killed by a sniper while serving in the Iraq war. I use some actual events to bring authenticity to the story and character.
I do extensive research for my novels including visiting every site that I use and always use actual streets and businesses. I’ve had help in police matters from a local hostage negotiator from the Shelby Township Police Force and when I need Medical assistance I consult with my personal physician.
I’ve had two career’s , guess three when you count my writing, for a time I had a corporate training position and moved around the country with my lovely wife and two children. My son is a newspaper editor in Georgia now and our daughter is an accomplished trapeze artist plus yoga trainer living in Southern California. My pal always hanging around when I’m writing is my dog, Baxter. You’ll find him as a character in many of my novels.
